Weight loss is not magic.

Not forgetting about basic nutrition, the only way to lose weight is consume less food! Remember as a kid you were asked "Would you rather pick up a million pounds of feathers or bricks?" the smart kids would reply it's the same weight stupid! Sadly this ties directly into dieting which most people tend to over complicate become frustrated and stop. The concept is really that simple, you eat 3500 calories of fish, or you eat 3500 calories of cake, YOU JUST gained the same amount of weight spending more time at the gym, walking, biking or even swimming will not change this or which fruit you are consuming to "speed up metabolism" which is a HOAX!

A Great place to start!
Lets figure out how much calories you need to consume to stay at your current weight, there is a great calculator for this at Mayoclinc are a great resource for dieters.

 The next step!
Lets say your daily caloric intake is 2000, to stay at the same weight. To lose a pound a week you will have to cut 500 calories from that daily, only allowing yourself to eat 1500 calories a day. (3500 calories = 1 pound) This is considered to be a very quick diet pace. There are TONS of great meals that most people do not consider, and simple ways to cut the current amount of calories a day, and will post these great food ideas in the near future.

 DIET ONLINE DIARY!
A website called myfitnesspal.com is the best website/smart phone application there is for dieters! Can easily update what food you have eaten, what works out you have done, how long you ran at what speed, and yes it gets better, you can see other peoples workouts, and what their also eating and how much! This is a VERY fun site, and very FUN to see all the success these people have from using this system, it really adds a lot of FREE social support to keep you going.

 Carbs/Protein
I promise, this will be a heavily hit topic for you but pretty much, carbs is very easy for the body to break down, making it feel like your never FULL. But proteins are very hard, making you feel full all the time, for far less calorie intake. Quick example: 1 can of tuna 100 calories 20 protein, most people feel satisfied after this. One slice of white toast, 100 calories. its as if you ate nothing.
